Uthai Thani’s beauty queen died in a car accident yesterday morning in Prachuap Khiri Khan while she was traveling to Bangkok with a friend to perform her pageant duty.
Rattana “Fierce” Ramchat, 19, died four days after she won the title of Miss Grand Uthai Thani. Rattana would have been the representative of her province in a nationwide beauty contest Miss Grand Thailand.
Rattana and her friend were driving on the Phetkasem highway when the friend, Paveena Aimkosa, plunged into a ditch on the side of the road and crashed into a tree.
Rescuers came, and the two were sent directly to a district hospital. Thai PBS reported that Paveena is injured. Rattana, however, was confirmed dead not long afterwards.
On social media, the beauty contest committee, alongside the beauty queen’s fans and friends, expressed their deepest condolences.
