More than two million travelers are expected pass through Suvarnabhumi Airport to celebrate Chinese New Year in Thailand.
Airlines have increased flights to the airport during the holiday period, increasing the total number of flights to 12,034 flights or around 926 flights per day.
Many of the increased flight requests were from China, with China Eastern Airlines requesting the most flights at 144.
Compared to last year, this year’s number of passengers have increased by 20 percent during the period, officials said.
Travelers are advised to arrive at the airport at least four hours before departure in order to make their flight due to crowded conditions.
