Medium died stabbing himself in heart in attempt to prove his immortality

A young medium in Chiang Mai died stabbing himself in the heart Monday afternoon in an attempt to prove his immortality.

The 25-year-old medium, Theprit Palee, was performing a folk dance called “Fon Pee Mot,” which is part of an old ceremony practiced by people in the north to honor the ghosts of their ancestors.

Just like every year, Theparit performed a miracle for the spectators, but this time, he ended up plunging the sword he was holding into his heart. He was pronounced dead at the hospital. He has performed this act many times but it is unclear why it went wrong this time.

It is reported that Theparit was worshipped by many people in the community, and every year the miracle would happen, in which the sword broke before it reached his chest, Sanook reported.
