Bangkok’s design world has its big party this month and the public can check out exhibitions, shows and discussions on all such things.
Held at venues in the Bangkok Art and Cultural Centre, Siam Discovery, Siam Center and Siam Paragon, here’s some of the highlights:

Degree Shows: Some of the best thesis projects by graduating design students will be on display tomorrow through next Wednesday in the Grand Hall at Siam Discovery.

Designers’ Saturday: Two experts – Jo Nagasaka of Schemata Architects and brand designer Tim Kobe of Eight Inc. – will be sharing their thoughts on architecture and design Saturday, May 10 at Paragon Cineplex in Siam Paragon. Reservations can be made at 02-260-2606.

Culture and Sustainability: Crafts and creations made of batik and bamboo will be featured among traditional Indonesian designs at pop-up store Another Alternative in Siam Center.

Foster + Partners: The Art of Architecture: The famous architectural firm are showing their models and projects now through June at the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre.

Movies on Design: Five selected films will be screened May 20 to 22 and 27 to 29 at the fifth-floor auditorium in the Bangkok Art and Culture Centre. Talks with producers, critics, architects and designers will also be held after the screenings.
