Man injured in attack near judge’s home

A sleeping man was seriously injured by a grenade fired into bedroom in an attack police believe was aimed at a judge’s home.

Boonchuay Samrit, 43, was hospitalized with serious injuries after the grenade exploded at about 11:30pm. A second grenade entered another resident’s home, but no one was injured.

The grenades were likely fired from an M79 “blooper” and intended for Constitutional Court Judge Jaral Phakdeethanakul, whose whome sits about 200 meters from that of Boonchuay on Ekkamai Soi 30, The Nation reported.
