Manchester United has signed a partnership with Thai telecoms conglomerate True Corporation.
As part of the three-year agreement, True will be an official associate match sponsor for Manchester United’s match in Bangkok on July 13, 2013.
In addition, TrueMove H will become Manchester United’s official mobile partner for Thailand; and TrueVisions will be the official MUTV broadcaster for Thailand.
This does not however mean that Manchester United matches will be shown live on TrueVisions – in fact, the broadcaster lost the rights to the English Premier League last year.
True mobile users may be able to access exclusive Man U content on their phones though.
Here’s what Manchester United said in an official statement: “By partnering with Manchester United, one of the world’s top football teams, TrueMove H is bringing a world-class sports experience for consumers in Thailand to enjoy via their mobile devices utilising the best in 4G and 3G technologies.”
“Our new partnership is set to follow suit and provide our 20 million loyal and passionate Thai followers with exclusive content and footage, bringing them closer to the club they love,” added Manchester United group managing director Richard Arnold.
Thai beer giant Singha also sponsorsManchester United, as well as rival EPL football club Chelsea.
