The Singha Allstars will face off against Manchester United in a friendly match on Saturday, July 13th in Bangkok.
Despite the odds (Man U is really, really, really good), Allstar manager Piyapong Piew-on, was bullish about his squad chances.
“Manchester United is a world class team,” said Piyapong. “We must be prepared, but will not apply defensive strategy to aim for a 0-0 game.”
Right.
Superstars such as Robin Van Persie, Wayne Roonie, Nemanja Vidic and Ryan Gigs are expected to take to the field against the Thai team.
The English Premier League champs will touch down in Thailand on the July 11 and their first stop will be signing a get-well message for Their Majesties the King and Queen at Siriraj Hospital. Then the team will attend the Manchester United Soccer School and teach Thai youngsters football skills.
