Yesterday, Pon Thonghor, a 60-year-old man, killed Aranya Pohtub, a 50-year-old woman, with a knife after Pon was refused to feed Aranya’s cats.
Upon their arrival at a house on Soi Prachasongkroa 24, Huai Khwang police found Aranya lying in a pool of blood, the result of two stab wounds to her neck and chest. Aranya was rushed to a hospital but later died in an operation room. Police also found Pon sitting on the floor with a self-inflicted stab wound to his stomach.
Pon told police that he was a pet lover and used to help Aranya feed her 28 pets while renting a room at her house. After a fight, Pon moved out but still lived in the same neighborhood. On the occasion of the holiday, Pon bought food for Aranya’s cats but Aranya refused him to feed them. Furious, Pon went to Huai Khwang Market to buy a weapon in order to attack his former landlord.
Channel 7 reported that Pon tried to escape punishment for his crime by ending his life but did not succeed and was sent to Police General Hospital.
