In a horrifying scene, a Thai man shot his wife and father-in-law dead before taking the gun to his own head at Nakhon Pathom Hospital at 1:30pm today.

The gunman was identified as 30-year-old Chaiporn Chaonakamol, while his two victims were Sampan Thanamsri, 60, and Thanyamas, 26, mother of Chaiporn’s 6-month-old baby.

Witnesses said the three came to the hospital together for Thanyamas to be treated for a urinary issue. At one point, Chaiporn got into a quarrel with his father-in-law, who witnesses at the scene said wanted him to end the relationship with Thanyamas, Thairath reported.

An angry Chaiporn then took out his gun and shot Sampan in the head. He shot Thanyamas in the chest before shooting turning the gun on himself — in front of an estimated 100 patients and hospital staff, who immediately scattered in panic.

While no bystanders were shot at, one woman, Duanglak Siripitchtrakul, was hit by a ricocheting bullet, while another, Sureewan Pansing, 26, fainted. The investigation is ongoing.
