Man dies on Siam Paragon treadmill

A 38-year-old man died from a heart attack while running on a treadmill at Fitness First in Siam Paragon yesterday afternoon.

Chaiset Kongpananpol, 38, had reportedly run on the treadmill for 40 minutes before he collapsed on the floor and died.

Although media reports omitted the name of the mall where the incident occurred, it’s identified from photos on Pantip that the “Ratchaprasong Mall” referred to in the news is Siam Paragon.

His wife, who was shopping in the mall, believes Chiset’s high blood pressure and diabetes caused him to have a heart attack while the gym insisted he did not specify his condition in his membership and did not have a trainer.

Rescue volunteers from the Institute of Forensic Medicine performed CPR on the Chaiset for 30 minutes but were unsuccessful in resuscitating him.

His body will be sent for an autopsy to determine the cause of death, Spring News reported.
