A man died early this morning after his car collided with the BMW belonging to the son of Thailand’s top comedian “Nong Cha Cha Cha.”

The deceased, identified as Pornpichit Nareunatmontr, 47, was making a U-turn on Rangsit-Nakhon Nayok Road outside of Bangkok when his car crashed into the BMW of Kittibhumi Iamsuk, 28, who was driving in the middle lane, according to police.

Police said the comedian’s son could not hit the brake in time and crashed right into the man’s car, INN News reported.

Kittibhumi was slightly injured and was sent to Paolo Rangsit Hospital. Rescue volunteers found that Pornpitchit had died instantly in his Mitsubishi Lancer.

Nong Cha Cha Cha, or Pongsak Pongsuwan, 43, who regularly appears on television, spoke to the media to say that his son could not avoid the oncoming car in time, and the young man remains traumatized by the accident.

Pongsak added that his son was driving back from their family’s noodle restaurant in Nakhon Nayok to his home in Pathum Thani.

Police gave Pornpichit an alcohol test pending the investigation. No charges have been pressed.
