A 29-year-old man died immediately after being hit by a bus along Sukhumvit Road this morning during rush hour.
Bus number 511 was approaching a stop in Bangna district when Sarawaut Chancaeng allegedly jumped in front of the bus and was hit by the left front wheel.
Bangna locals claimed that the man had been seen regularly crossing the road and assumed to be mentally-ill, said the police.
The bus driver has been charged with reckless driving resulting in death.
Police will check the CCTV camera and question Sarawut’s relatives for further investigation, Khaosod English reported.
