At midday today, a man pulled his white Nissan over to the side of Rama IX bridge and jumped to meet his death.
Sompong Wanasinchai left a suicide note in his car that apologized to his family for his actions and explaining that it was unresolvable job stress that led to the depression and insomnia that put him in that hopeless place.
The man was, according to The Nation, director of Ruam Tawan Group and detailed the home and buildings that he left to his family. He apologized that it was not more.
Scuba divers from Ruam Katanyu Foundation were able to recover his body from the river at about 1:30 pm.
