Man arrested for THB200,000 bank robbery

A branch of Bangkok Bank

Yesterday, police arrested a man for stealing upwards of THB200,000 from a branch of Bangkok Bank.

Kittisak Ruenkorn, 42, accomplished the heist on Saturday. He walked into the Bangkok Bank branch inside of a local Tesco Lotus and proceeded to wave a gun at the female teller, then throw vinegar at her, which he claimed was acid.

According to the Bangkok Post, Kittisak told the police that he had undertaken the robbery in an effort to pay off a loan. He originally took out the loan in order to buy a motorcycle.
