A 9-year-old boy died yesterday after his father beat him to death for not finishing his homework.
Kemmarat Tapradit, a 36-year-old repair tech is in police custody, according to police.
Police said they were responding to a domestic violence call Monday at a home in Phayao city. When they arrived, they found the boy unconscious with blood coming from his nose and mouth and what appeared to be a broken arm, Bangkok Post reported.
He was taken to a nearby hospital and later onward to one in Chiang Rai where he died yesterday.
Kemmarat reportedly confessed to being drunk when he hit his boy for not doing his homework.
