Police in the Pak Kret district of Nonthaburi have arrested a 32-year-old man for assaulting his mother before making off with cash and valuables in her possession.
The man, one Sitthichok Srisawat, reportedly strangled his mother into unconsciousness before making away with THB30,000 in cash and various pieces of jewelry in her possession.
A call from Sitthichok’s elder sister eventually led to his arrest.
The Bangkok Post reports that Sitthichok admitted to his offense and claimed to have undertaken the crime in an effort to money to finance his personal expenses.
