File this under “services you didn’t know you need.” Mega movie theater operator Major Group, in collaboration with i-Tail Corporation, will roll out permanent theaters that will allow you and your furry friends to watch movies together.
That’s right. Starting June 10, the group will launch “i-Tail Pet Cinema” across three of their cinemas – Mega Cineplex Megabangna, EastVille Cineplex, and Major Cineplex Robinson Ratchapruek, on weekends only.
Pets must be healthy and vaccinated, over four months old, and must be small or weigh no more than 15kg. They must also wear diapers and must sit in a specialized bag provided by the movie theater. We can only imagine how your viewing pleasure will be impacted by the yelps, howls and meows of your fellow moviegoers.
For the safety and comfort of the animals, the cinema says it will reduce sound and lighting effects by “30%”, but provides no explanation how stressful it can be for pets to remain in their bags while watching big screens for over two hours.
Tickets for pets will be available for THB99 on Saturdays and Sundays, only from 10am screenings.
