The ownership of a plot of land that presently houses a hospital and a school is being disputed by a foundation that is supported by the Mae Tao clinic and by a monk who sold the plot of land.
Sulak Sivaraksa, social critic founder of the Metta Thammarak Foundation, is rallying members of the foundation to file a lawsuit against Phra Kittisak Kittisophano who allegedly sold three-fourths of the land for THB2.5 million. The piece of land was sold to Pol Lt-Col Cholthep Maichai, a senior policeman based in Fang. This is said to be in violation of the foundation’s objectives.
According to activist Pipob Udomittipong, they are considering filing charges of fraud against Phra Kittisak for selling the land without authorization, the Nation reported.
