Luang Pu Nenkham summoned to answer to ecclesiastical government

Today, the ecclesiastical government of Sisaket Province issued a summons to Luang Pu Nenkham Chattigo, the head abbot of Wat Pa Khanti Dhamma, to report to authorities by June 30. 

As reported earlier, Luang Pu Nenkham canceled plans to attend a Buddhist ceremony at his temple and decided to postpone his return to Thailand. He is being called in to answer for his inappropriate, extravagant lifestyle, as well as for other legal issues.

A spokesperson for the monastic governing body told Spring News that Luang Pu Nenkham’s scandals had overwhelmingly adverse effects on the reputation of Buddhism in Thailand. a fact-finding committee will be set up so as to examine whether or not the monk is guilty.
