Yesterday, Wat Pa Khanti Dhamma head abbot Luang Pu Nenkham Chattigo, who is wanted by the Sisaket ecclesiastical government, played down allegations of inappropriate monastic conduct, claiming they were nonsensical.

The monk phoned in from France, where he claimed to be preoccupied with Buddhist rituals, to give a sermon to followers at his temple. He did not mention plans to return to Thailand.

Following a summons from the Sisaket monastic authorities that requested Luang Pu Nenkham to report to them by June 30, Luang Pu Nenkham’s temple submitted a letter asking for a postponement of the deadline.

The temple is drafting an official letter of explanation and will release it to the public tomorrow, Dailynews reports.
