Fall in love with something reliable for a change Saturday: a ridiculously adorable doggo.

Dogs, their human companions and people yet to find their fur-mate can join the Doggie Mini Rally from 4pm to 8pm east of downtown in the Bang Kapi district. There will be pet adoptions, a 2-kilometer dog jog, skill training competition, and, from the hey-close-enough department, Valentine’s Day-themed wedding ceremonies (for dogs).

Boasting the attendance of some unspecified “celebrity dogs,” the event will feature romantic activities such as a matchmaking event for besotted pooches and a costume contest.

A lover costume contest will be held for owner and dog. The pair that wins earns a one-night stay at PERI Hotel Hua Hin worth THB10,000.

To keep the little ones happy and healthy, there will be onsite health checks from Thonglor Pet Hospital and a “dog spa” along with more than 20 booths to peruse.

And if your defiantly anti-V Day facade crumbled under the weight of loneliness Tuesday, consider adopting a best friend to fill that empty void. The good folks from Adopt Me Please rescue group will bring some personable pups looking for new homes. Ages range from puppies just over just 3 months to 5 years.

The doggone party starts at 4pm at Sansiri Krungthep Kreetha Community located just off Soi Pracha Ruam Thai in Bangkok’s Bang Kapi district. Plan to taxi or drive there.
