Liverpool vs Thailand match to kick-off earlier

Kick-off for the the match between Thailand and Liverpool FC on Sunday, July 28 at the Rajamangala Stadium in Bangkok has changed to 5.45pm.

The original kick-off time was 6pm but as a mark of respect to HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn, who celebrates his 61st birthday, the time has been moved to allow the royal family to broadcast a special message to honour the occasion.

The Reds roadshow has left Melbourne bound for Bangkok after last night’s 2-0 win over Melbourne Victory.

Steven Gerrard scored in the first half and Spanish striker Iago Aspas got the second in injury time. Luis Suarez joined up with his teammates in Australia, but there is a distinct possibility that the fiery Uruguayan could miss the Bangkok match as he wants to discuss a transfer to Arsenal.

Thailand coach Kiatisak Senamuang has added four senior players: Teerasil Dangda, Phairoj Sokhum, Sinthaweechai Hathairattanakool and Adul Lasoh to his squad to face Liverpool. The quartet will add much needed experience to a young squad that is using this game as a warm up for the upcoming SEA games, which will be held in Myanmar in December.

Fans who were lucky enough to have spent 5,000, 3,000 or 2,000 baht on a ticket will get the chance to watch a Liverpool training session on Saturday July 27, at 4.30pm at Rajamangala Stadium.

Everyone else will have to wait until 5:45pm on Sunday July 28 at Rajamangala Stadium.

Tickets are still available for the match.
