A page from an old health textbook was shared on Facebook to the social network’s outrage for depicting the LGBT community in a discriminating way.
Shared by gender-bending pop star Gene Kasidit, the image was said to have been taken from the 2008 edition of a health textbook previously used by Mathayom 1 students.
“‘The sexually-confused’ refers a group of people who adopt a cross-sex lifestyle with the strong desire to change their appearance to imitate the opposite sex,” the book reads.
The book conveniently includes a photo of a cabaret performance, implying illustrates the “sexually confused.”
“Cabaret is a performance among those who adopt a cross-sex lifestyle,” it states.
Although it couldn’t be quickly confirmed, one user claimed the book is an older version no long used in schools.
