Save the date, Thailand, because the Election Committee just made it official — Thailand’s 2019 election date is March 24.

Just hours after the Royal Decree, signed by 66-year-old King Maha Vajiralongkorn, was issued in the Royal Thai Government Gazette, the confirmed date was announced by Election Commissioner Ittiporn Boonpracong at about 4pm.

Candidates for the election can register from Feb. 4-8 and those running will be officially announced on Feb. 15, reported Channel 3 News.

Overseas voters can cast their ballot from March 4-16 and voters living outside their electorates may cast their vote on March 17.

For the majority of the past year, the military government had said that the election would take place on Feb. 24, a date that was given after five previous delays to what will be Thailand’s first election since 2011.

Ladies and gentlemen, let the countdown — finally — begin.
