Latest Major Lazer video shot in Bangkok, features Thai model as stripper

The latest big name rap video hit the internet today but it has a little bit of a mystery attached to it. The video was reportedly shot in Bangkok though there are no recognizable locations in it.

The song, “Night Riders,” by Major Lazer (Diplo’s electro trio) features Pusha T, 2 Chainz, and Travis Scott and Mad Cobra. Of the rappers, only Scott appears in the video. Thai models Kusuma Chawdon and Kanyanat Bamrungphong also make short appearances, according to Sanook. The lead girl in the video, however, appears to be Western. If they were going to come all the way to Thailand, shouldn’t they have cast a Thai — hell, even an Asian — girl as the lead?

The video opens with the title “Night Riders” written in Thai in neon lights.

The video is packed full of your typical Asian models, strip clubs, skimpy outfits and low lighting. What it also has is girl-on-girl bloody street boxing, a parking lot on fire and one very sweet neon-lit tuk-tuk.

The 4-minute clip follows a day in the life of a girl, who is, apparently, a boxer and stripper with a violent nature. She gets into a bloody street brawl, breaks a bottle over a client’s head in a strip club and steals the aforementioned sweet tuk-tuk from a driver who tries to take advantage of her.

After the sun comes up, a twist ending shows her return to a house in the country, putting the money she made into an old tin box and taking her young daughter from her mother’s arms.

Sounds like Thailand.
