Kowtow to my car: Thai actor gets suspended jail term in high-profile road rage case

This morning a court handed down a one-year suspended jail sentence to “Nott,” the Thai actor infamous for punching a biker who hit his Mini Cooper and telling the guy to “kowtow” to his precious car.

In the most parodied road rage incident of 2016, Akanat “Nott” Ariyaritwikul, an actor formerly employed by Thai TV production house Grammy, confessed to the court on charges of assault, since he punched his victim Kittisak Singto until his nose was broken.

Nott’s sentence was commuted from a two-year prison due to his confession.

The actor’s friend and passenger on the day of the incident, Witawat Sribanditmongkol, who stood there and watched the beating, also received the same sentence, Daily News reported.

On Nov. 4, 2016, Nott was caught on video dragging Kittisak across the road and punching him several times, after the biker hit his car and attempted to flee.

“Where are you going?! You hit and ran! How much does this [damage] cost?” he said in the video.

“Do not hit and run. Understand? Kowtow to my car!” the actor said, as the scared motorcyclist did a wai at his yellow Mini Cooper.

The one-minute video of the incident enraged the public and got the actor fired from all of his TV contracts.

Nott told reporters that from now on, he wants to teach children how to control their tempers. He will also avoid driving and asks someone to drive for him if possible.
