Koh Samet oil spill almost gone, satellite image shows

Koh Samet is almost back to normal, at least according to the aerial images from the Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency (Gitsda).

A Gitsda satellite image, received this morning at 5:33am, showed the offshore oil slick has dispersed to a point that its size could not be determined. The oil film that spanned up to five square kilometer yesterday over Northern Koh Samet’s Phrao Bay was almost invisible today.

Gitsda, however, suggested that field examination should be conducted for more thorough estimation of the remaining oil.
