A new regulation, which became effective recently, requires all pet cats to receive a rabies vaccine.
The Ministry of Agriculture and Cooperatives issued the new regulation last Friday stating that cats must receive their first rabies shot before they turn four months old.
According to the 1992 Rabies Act, animals under the ministerial regulations must be vaccinated to prevent rabies. Previously, only dogs were listed in the regulation, reported MThai.
Owners that fail to have their pets vaccinated will be liable for a fine of up to THB200, which is more than getting your kittehs the rabies shots they need.
Also, there are constantly events where owners can get their cats vaccinated for free.
But how are they going to enforce the law on the huge population of stray cats? Technically, they can’t, and cats’ plan to kill human and take over the world continues.
