Wild animals, or at least their portraits, are coming to the urban jungle in Chinatown at the exhibition “Second Nature” by Thai street artist “Mauy.”
Surrounded by the forests of Chiang Mai since he was 7, Mauy portrays wildlife as kings of their own world, sharing a vision of camaraderie instead of the ruthless nature of survival.
“I grew up around the jungles and wildlife, so there are two things that have been a big influence in my life. One, the forest is the bloodline of life, and two, the longer that forest can serve, the longer everything can live,” he said.
Entry is free, and the opening reception starts at 7pm on July 10. The exhibition runs through August 8.
