Almost two hundred kindergarteners visited a military base Wednesday and learned a thing or two about military principles and “Thai values.” Yikes.
The 1st infantry battalion, 29th infantry regiment, in Kanchanaburi province, hosted a field visit by 180 kindergarteners. The trip is part of the army’s “Guardian of the Nation” project.
The kids, aged 5-6, spent the day learning about life as a soldier. They changed into the camouflage uniform, ate like a soldier, played in the training field, and laid on military camp beds. How adorable.
They also visited the military rice field, an outdoor classroom, which taught the kids about the hardship of farming and harvesting rice, so they would appreciate and value each grain of rice they eat.
Apart from educating the young kids about military devotion, the field trip aimed to indoctrinate the 12 National Values in young children and teach them love and loyalty to the “nation, religion, and monarchy.”
