Kanchanaburi village chief busted with bundle of yaba

A Kanchanaburi village leader was arrested yesterday after police said they found 100,000 methamphetamine pills in the back of his car.

A joint operation between police and soldiers led to the arrest of Chawig Malai, 41, in a Chiang Mai department store parking lot.

Police said he fessed up to being a drug dealer, Bangkok Post reports.

Police said Chawig confessed to possession with intent to distribute in his home province. In order to catch other gang members, police said they will further investigate Chawig’s links to local politicians.
