This June, Bangkok cops arrested more than 1,000 people on drug charges

From an early 2013 drug bust

The Metropolitan Police Bureau announced it was able to apprehend more than 1,000 drug offenders during the month of June, as part of its fresh drive to eliminate narcotics in the capital. 
Authorities conducted 214 narcotic suppression operations in Bangkok throughout the past month, arresting 1,189 suspects altogether, 172 of whom they charged with selling drugs, 364 they charged with possessing drugs, and 653 of whom they charged with taking drugs.
