It’s World Emoji Day, and as exciting as that is, coco-fans, we are more excited that the new batch of emojis, scheduled to drop in the third quarter of this year, includes a coconut.
Yes, a coconut. That fresh and juicy fruit found throughout Southeast Asia from which we take our name. Send this new emoji to a friend, send it to a crush, send it alongside any Coconuts story link. We know we will.
According to Emojipedia, the list of 69 new images (plus new skin tone rollouts) was finalized in late March and meant to be released in May, but won’t actually come out until the third quarter of 2017, Apple said today.
Some of the emojis may be exclusive to iOS, MacOS and WatchOS, but the coconut emoji is being rolled out for Google, Droid, Facebook, and Twitter as well.
Sure, you may have seen the much-hyped bearded man emoji prototype, the woman in a headscarf, unicorn, zombie, sandwich, and dumpling. But we know which one we are most excited about.
Go Coconuts!
