Jiu Jitsu tournament to raise money for charity Operation Smile Thailand

Bangkok is slowly becoming one of the centers of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu in Asia. Several of the city’s talented crop of young submission grapplers will test their mettle this Saturday, August 17, at the White and Blue Belt BJJ Competition at EMAC Thailand on Suriwongse Road in Silom.

The event will raise money for Operation Smile Thailand, a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free surgeries to children suffering from a cleft palate and other facial deformities.

Competitors from throughout Thailand are expected to participate, with each 500 baht entry fee donated to Operation Smile Thailand. Spectators enter for free and donations are accepted.

This is the third competition of 2013. The last one took place at BKK BJJ Academy on Sukhumvit Soi 13 in June.

EMAC Thailand is located on the third floor of Suriwongse Tower Inn, 410/3-4 Suriwongse Road, near the Surasak and Saphan Taksin BTS stops.
