Japanese, Thai women to join forces at The Jam Factory

Ten Japanese women artists are coming to feed Bangkok’s imagination with their art next month at The Jam Factory.

The exhibition will pack the girl power of Tokyo’s Shibukaru Matsuri with Thai women creatives to feature two- and three-dimensional works, video installations, fashion and more by Ai Madonna, Kyunchome, Ly, Mizuno Shizu, Norikonakazato, Oshima Tomoko, Saigo no Shudan, NuQ, Yasuhara Anzu (Chinjaorosu) and Wakusei Haruporizumu.

They’ll be joined by Thai women artists such as indie girl band Yellow Fang, Patcha Poonpiriya of indie movie “Mary Is Happy, Mary Is Happy” fame and more.

Shibukaru Matsuri is a visual arts collective founded in 2011 by a group of female creatives in Tokyo to exhibit their ideas and ideals through a diverse array of media.

The opening reception starts at 7pm, June 19, and the exhibition runs through June 28.
