The Embassy of Japan in Thailand has announced that Thais can now enter Japan without applying for a visa.
For “short visits,” Thai nationals will be able to obtain a visa waiver that will allow them to legally travel about the island nation.
The Bangkok Post reports that the exact duration of these “short visits” has not yet been decided. The date on which the policy will go into effect remains a mystery as well, however, Japanese embassy officials said that they plan for the policy to take effect before Japan’s summer season.
