Traffic congestion is improving as fewer illegally parked vehicles are clogging the streets nearly a month after police started a new towing program, the Bangkok Metropolitan Police Bureau said
A total of 105 cars have been towed by the police throughout Bangkok during heavy traffic times.
The towing zone was implemented Oct. 21 on 10 crowded roads and later expanded to 30 more roads on Nov. 1. Drivers who illegally park will face a THB1,000 fine and costs for storage, as well as the inconvenience of retrieving their towed vehicles, Daily News reported.
