Fans of a recent sex-fueled, star-studded dark comedy speculate that it might be coming to Thailand.

American black comedy-drama anthology series White Lotus Season 3 could take place in Thailand after the show’s creator filmed himself appearing with The Land of Smiles in the backdrop.

The video was recorded by Mike White the show creator himself  – ostensibly on vacation –  as a thank-you to reporter Evan Ross Katz, who has written extensively about the show.

“Not Mike all but confirming WHITE LOTUS: THAILAND in this video lol,” Katz tweeted, firing up the rumor mill.

The show writer may well just be on holiday, but some fans have suggested the third season of HBO’s White Lotus could be set at a Four Seasons property, and, if White’s video is anything to go by, Four Seasons Samui is the most likely.

Previous seasons have been island-based: Season 1 set in Hawaii and Season 2 in Italy’s Sicily. White hinted that Season 3 may take place in Asia and focus on “death and Eastern religion and spirituality.”

Reached for comment, the Four Seasons hotel on Koh Samui said no filming was currently ongoing.

A source told Coconuts that other locations were being scouted for the show as well. Fingers crossed!
