Happy International Cat Day!

This annual celebration — which falls on Aug. 8 every year — was created by the International Fund for Animal Welfare in 2002 to honor the bond between humans and our favorite feline friends.

So Coconuts decided to do a round up of Thailand’s most fabulous Insta-kitty-celebs to raise your spirits on this (also, universally) dreaded hump day.

Starting with Bonebone, this enormous ragdoll is often spotted wearing a tiny backpack.

Here comes Suea Krong from the famous account Kingdom of Tigers. Suea Krong shares a home with 16 other cats, but he’s remained the leader of the pack all these years, and has starred in a few TV commercials to boot.

Meanwhile, Saolin, the Siamese-Persian mix, is melting people’s heart with his big round eyes.

Able Maew, the rescued stray who has lost his two front legs, follows three physically-impaired cats through their cute and heartwarming days. Aww, nothing like the perseverance of these little fluff-monsters to give you extra motivation, huh?

Johnny the Copper Cat is famous for entirely different reasons. Although he doesn’t wear a cute backpack, Johnny’s impressive impersonations of Thai politicians is winning people’s hearts. Look at that watch he’s wearing!

And finally Hachi and Hane, the sassy Scottish folds that, for some reason, seem to always be hanging out in cat-sized cars.

While we have your attention, here are some ways you can help our favorite furry friends in Thailand — after all, International Cat Day was intended for more than just “aw”s and memes.

Are you alone on International Cat Day? PAWS is a non-profit organization that aims to to reduce the overpopulation of cats through sterilization and education. Their office in Bangkok’s suburbs has a rooftop crowded with cats that need home. Check them out here.

Contrary to popular belief, Soi Dog Rescue isn’t all about canines, you can actually volunteer, donate and even adopt your very own kitty. Their website promises a “straightforward” process with support from the organization every step of the way. Here are some of the cats who want to live with you!
