Insurance companies won’t cover damages from ‘Bangkok Shutdown’

If you’re planning to participate in Monday’s street skirmish, we hate to say it, but you might consider leaving that new Lamborghini Huracan LP 610-4 at home.

Anon Wangwasu, the president of Thai General Insurance Association has advised citizens to keep their vehicles safe and home and reveals insurance doesn’t apply to the damage caused by social unrest.

“The insurance companies have arranged more staff available 24 hours to handle cases on January 13,” Anon said. “However, if damage happens in the event that citizens protest against the government, insurance companies will not accept the claims. Citizens are advised to avoid bringing their vehicles into the risky zones.”

And for anyone who plans to parade their vehicles into the protest zones, Anon added it might be difficult to buy an AOG  insurance at this time and the fee might increase 10 percent to 15 percent more, MThai reported.
