Indian Embassy in Bangkok to use biometrics to identify visa applicants

Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya is a popular destination for Thai tourists

In an effort to streamline and improve their visa services to foreigners, the Indian embassy in Bangkok will this October begin using biometrics to identify those wanting to apply for a visa to India.

Anil Wadhwa, the Indian Ambassador to Thailand, made the announcement last Friday. Wadhwa inaugurated a brand new visa application center, which will be managed by IV Global Services Pvt Ltd., an India-based company.

The Times of India reports that the main tourist destination for Thais visiting India is Bodh Gaya.
