IDAHOT: a week of Gay Pride celebrations held throughout Bangkok

As the world celebrates International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia on May 17, Bangkok will host a series of events to call for action against violence and discrimination towards the LGBTI community.

To help raise awareness before May 17, a documentary and panel discussion on homophobic bullying in Thailand will take place today at 5.30pm at the Learning Auditorium, Thailand Knowledge Park (TK Park), located on the 8th floor of Central World.

Also, as part of a School Rainbow Chalking Initiative, youth networks will draw chalk rainbows on the school gates of Bangkok from now until Saturday to support the LGBTI community.

To show your support through social sites such as Facebook, Twitter and Instagram use the tags #schoolrainbow and #IDAHOT. More information is available online.

The campaign is run by UNESCO, UNAIDS, regional youth networks, civil society networks, and U.S. and Netherlands Embassies.
