Hot, Hot, Hot: Summer heat to peak at end of week

Try not to plan for too much time outdoors at the end of the week as Bangkok is expecting the longest, hottest days of an already intolerably hot summer.

The heat will peak on Friday and Saturday with a max temperature of 39 degrees Celsius, which is 2 degrees Celsius above the annual average for this time of year. The temperature is expected to soar as high as 43 degrees Celsius in northern areas including Mae Hong Son, Chiang Rai, and Lampang, according to The Nation.

Though Thursday is actually when the sun is at its zenith and should be the hottest day of the year, due to predicted cloud cover and possible rain, it won’t feel as hot as the end of the week.

The hottest days of 2017 so far have been the 38 degrees Celsius we endured last Friday and Saturday.
