Hitman ‘sorry’ for murdering Homchong family

A suspected hitman returned to the scene of the crime yesterday where police police say he executed three family members inside their home last week.

Sirichai Phoemphunsak was at the Bang Khae district home for that routine, bizarre ritual of publicly re-enacting the murder of a retired army officer, his teacher wife and police lieutenant son.

Sirichai apologized for putting pillows to their heads to muffle the sound as he blew their brains out on Thursday in exchange for promised payment of a car, jewelry and Buddha amulets.

Sirichai is accused of murdering Vichai Homchong, Vanida Homchong and Thanatpong Homchong at the behest of the Kittinan Homchong, the family’s youngest son.

Kittinan, 22, is already in custody along with other conspirators: his friend Sakkarin Phanthukun and two other hitmen, Chalat Thiangtham, 53, and Suraphong Chuphan, 47.

Kittinan had his family murdered because he was angry his dad wouldn’t hand over a plot of land worth THB1 million and was generally critical of his behavior, Bangkok Post reported.
