Yesterday, police in the northern province of Chiang Mai arrested a man who allegedly threw hundreds of methamphetamine tablets on the street for other people to enjoy.

Kanjanapat Wongnet, 38, reportedly escaped police capture by running into the bushes on the roadside in Mae Jo district, leaving behind about 200 yaba tablets scattered on the street.

Police surrounded the area and arrested the man, who seemed to have already gotten high on his own supply. A video of his eventual capture was posted by Ruang Den Yen Nee news.

Police found a total of 12,260 yaba tablets on Kanjanapat. He was charged with possession of Category 1 drugs with intent to sell.

Sounds about right. After all, 200 of 12,260 pills could be considered “free samples,” passed out with the hope that people will come back to buy more.
