Senior monks have decided to wait for further evidence before revoking “jet-setter” Luang Pu Nenkham’s membership in the Buddhist monastic order.
This news came as somewhat of a surprise, seeing as the evidence against Luang Pu Nenkham has grown immensely over the past weeks.
In addition to revelations about his lavish lifestyle, Luang Pu Nenkham has been troubled with allegations of money laundering and, most recently, claims that he fathered an illegitimate child with an underage girl.
Yet, senior monks have elected to defer judgment until receiving further information from the Department of Special Investigations (DSI), which has taken on the case as a special circumstance.
The Nation reports that if DNA tests reveal Luang Pu Nenkham indeed fathered a child with an underage girl, then he will face criminal charges as well as expulsion from the monastic order.
