A thief who allegedly stole valuables from funeral guests was arrested last night outside of Bangkok with two Samsung Galaxy Note phones.
Wichian “Robinhood” Kiaotong, 54, apparently had an ongoing scam in which he would scan newspapers for a fancy funeral in Bangkok and show up in a safari suit.
The thief pretended to be a guest and stole purses and wallets which were left unoccupied when mourners paid their respects to the dead.
Wichian would then sell the stolen items at a secondhand market in Wang Burapha Phirom, Phra Nakhon area.
The thief has stolen from hi-so funerals for four years, the Daily News reported.
