Heroin and crystal meth worth THB100 million seized in Ratchaburi

Drugs with an estimated street value of THB100 million were seized by police on the first floor of a deserted three-storey building in western Ratchaburi province earlier today.

Anti-drug police seized 28 kilogrammes of heroin and 14 kilogrammes of crystal meth, or ya ice, after officers watched the building for three hours and raided it after no one showed up.

The police discovered 202 packets of heroin and 14 bundles of crystal meth in three sacks covered with canvas.

Pol Col Pratheep said he believes the traffickers suspected they were being followed and decided to abandon the drugs and flee.

An ongoing investigation indicated the drugs were linked to an inmate of Samut Sakhon prison known by his alias, Tee Auan Mae Klong. The gang brought the drugs from Ratchaburi, and intended to deliver them to major dealers at a place between Bangkok and neighbouring Krathum Baen, a district of Samut Sakhon, reported the Bangkok Post.
