You know what’s awesome? Staying in a beautiful hotel on Koh Samui. You know what else is awesome? Giving to charity. Put two and two together and you have a pretty great combo, and The Tongsai Bay did just that.
To help with disaster relief in Nepal — yes, Nepal still needs help post earthquake nightmare — The Tongsai Bay hotel on Koh Samui has pledged to give 10% of proceeds from direct bookings from now until June 30. Bonus points: anyone who books during that time period gets a shirt designed by prominent Thai designer Sakwut Wisesmanee. Talk about a win/win/win.

In case you’ve been hiding under a rock, Nepal was hit with massive earthquakes in both April and May this year. More than 8,800 people were killed, and no less than 23,000 people were left injured by the tragedy. In some cities, 95% of housing areas were destroyed. To say that the people of Nepal need help would be a huge understatement.
There are tons of ways to help the survivors of the earthquakes in Nepal, and this one by The Tongsai Bay is just one, but a pretty sweet one. In exchange for lending a hand to people in need, people who book a stay at the Koh Samui hotel will enjoy a dreamy, beach escape. The place is pretty amazing.

Surrounded by 25 acres of lush tropical greenery, The Tongsai Bay rests on a quiet, sandy shore. The family-owned property opened in 1987 and remained an idyllic destination known for its friendly staff and respect of the local environment.
The private beach sprinkled with luxurious lounge chairs doesn’t hurt either. Book a treatment in the Prana Spa like the “Samui Dream,” a traditional Thai treatment that uses coconut oil and local herbs. If you stay out on the beach too long, this treatment is also a sunburn soother in addition to being completely relaxing.
