Hell of yes: Giant Rubber Duck floats Udon Thani pride

Udon Thani residents are basking in pride and enjoying endless Kodak moments now that they’ve got an enormous, yellow rubber duck of their own.

Imitation is flattery and there’s no disputing the Duck of Udon pays homage to the one-and-only giant Rubber Duck sculpture by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman, whose duck has won hearts and minds floating in cities around the world.

How nice it was of Udon Thani Governor Itthipol Treewattanasuwan to borrow the giant inflatable duck from a friend. How or why did his friend come to have a giant inflatable duck? Good question.

His Governorness then installed the adorable plastic bird in Nongprajak Silapakom public park, where its cuteness has been swarmed by citizens since.

Even though Udon Thani duck might not be as large and proportioned as the original Rubber Duck, which has floated in 12 countries, it has attracted many locals and tourists to spend a day in the park, Kapook reported.

Hopefully, the adorable Udon Thani adopted will not have to go through that dark, deflating moment His Yellow Rubber Majesty did when it suffered a quake-related blowout in Taiwan.
